Some of Mark Rogalski’s earliest works of art might still be found on the walls (scribbled, not hanging) of the house in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was born and raised and enjoyed many creative adventures. After graduating from the University of the Arts with honors and a BFA in Illustration, Mark wandered the working world as an editorial cartoonist, a scenic designer, a comic book artist, a screen printer and a graphic designer before getting the wonderful opportunity to write and illustrate children’s books.
Mark’s work has fantastical elements and themes that are influenced by the wonders of childhood, science fiction, mechanical inventions and journeys of the imagination. He also incorporates elements of puzzles, games and interaction into his books. His work has been honored by The International Reading Association, the Bookbinder’s Guild of New York and Communication Arts Magazine, and has been featured in numerous ways and places, including Publisher’s Weekly, NBC’s Today Show, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Radio Disney, Storyopolis, Encino, California and Storyopolis Art, Dallas, Texas.
Mark’s work is currently represented by Painted-Words Represents, New York, New York. Please enjoy a visit to the site!
Mark lives in Wayne, Pennsylvania with his wife and two daughters, in a house with lots of new wall scribblings.
